It annoyed me that the Google Calendar Notifier extension guy gave up on maintaining his extension, which really is one of those “must have”s, mainly because when I upgraded to FF3 it stopped working. So I hacked the install.rdf of the extension to allow FF3 to install it. You can install it by downloading and then dragging it onto Firefox while it’s running.
Since you should never install extensions that are not hosted on the official mozilla server and/or somewhere you trust, you can compare my change with the original if you are so inclined:
- Mine is at: http://www.flavor8.com/google_calendar_notifier-3.0.xpi
- The original is at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/file/25388/google_calendar_notifier-2.5.1-fx.xpi
You can treat these files as if they are zips (because they are; use winzip or unzip or whatever to unpack them.) I made one change to the install.rdf file.
No warranty, guarantee, or anything else. I’m just making this available to be helpful.

Thanks for the update!! It is working on FF3 however the calendar feed url does not support google’s full text query url. Google provided urls to retrieve the events matching a full text query like http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/UserEmailId/private/full?q=birthday.
Calendar feed url does not save url’s with “full?q=” string in it. will really appreciate if you can look into this
Cheers,
